Changes in the procedure of the e= ntry to the Republic of Armenia
According to the amendments of the Govern=
ment Decree: =E2=84=96 1514-N of September 11, 2020, which entered into for=
ce on May 1, 2022:
The passengers are NO LONGER REQUIRED to present a COVID-19 PCR test or a C=
ertificate of complete vaccination against COVID-19 to enter the Republic o=
f Armenia.
For foreigners, the entry to the Republic of Armenia continues to remain op=
en both via air and land borders.
The quarantine on the territory of the Republic of Armenia due to COVID-19 =
has been extended till June 20, 2022.

COVID-19 travel restriction= s
According to the amendments of the Government Decree: =E2=84=96 1514-N o= f 11 September, 2020 which entered into force on 17 May, 2021:
1. a COVID-19 PCR test certificate* with a negative result taken within =
the previous 72 hours, or
2. a certification* of complete vaccination against COVID-19 with 2 dosages=
and the second dosage taken at least 14 days before entering the country.<=
/p>
If the travellers have been registered in the ARMED system, the vaccinat= ion certificate can be provided via ArmedeHealth mobile application. The tr= aveller can present the vaccination certificate via mobile application or p= resent the printed version of the certificate from the application protecte= d with a QR code.
Non-holders of the relevant certificate are subject to PCR sampling at t= he airport or border checkpoint sampling points and to compulsory isolation= until the negative result will be obtained.
The person will be hospitalized if corresponding symptoms are detected a= s a result of the examination.
In case of rejection of sampling or examination, all non-holders of the = relevant certificate are being isolated for 14 days.
The PCR test-related expenses should be covered by the traveller.

COVID-19 travel restrictions
According to the amendments of the Govern= ment Decree =E2=84=96 1514-N which entered into force on January 12, 2021 r= estrictions on the entry to the territory of the Republic of Armenia for pe= rsons arriving from foreign countries have been canceled and now all arrivi= ng persons (RA citizens and citizens of foreign countries) are permitted to= enter the territory of the Republic of Armenia both via air and land borde= rs.
According to the Decision N 1756-N adopte= d by the Republic of Armenia the process of self-isolation and submitting a= PCR test upon entering the territory of the Republic of Armenia was change= d.
=E2=AE=9A Upon entering the territory of = the Republic of Armenia via air and land borders travelers will be asked to= provide a COVID-19 PCR test certificate with negative results taken within= the previous 72 hours.
=E2=AE=9A The certificate should be in Ar= menian, Russian or English, include the name, surname, date of birth, and p= assport number of the examined person, printed on the official letterhead o= f the medical institution conducting the test, identifying all contacts of = the organization, test result, signed and sealed by the head of the medical= institution.
=E2=AE=9A In order to detect symptoms of = infection all passengers are subject to a relevant examination conducted by= the Health and Labor Inspectorate immediately upon arrival (including cont= actless temperature checking, external examination, additional inquiries in= case of clinical symptoms typical to the infection).
=E2=AE=9A If corresponding symptoms are d= etected as a result of examination the person will be hospitalized.
=E2=AE=9A Non-holders of the relevant cer= tificate are subjected to PCR sampling at the airport or border checkpoint = sampling points and to compulsory isolation until the negative PCR test res= ult will be obtained.
=E2=AE=9A Sampling points carry out sampl= ing, then submit personal data and registration of self-isolation in the AR= MED system on the basis of ID: authenticity of the contact phone number is = checked on the ground by calling to the mentioned phone number. After sampl= ing, the sampling point must provide a relevant document indicating the sam= pling and registration for self-isolation.
=E2=AE=9A The results of the PCR test are= registered in the ARMED system and are provided to the examined person wit= hin 48 hours.
=E2=AE=9A If a negative PCR test is obtai= ned, the person would be exempted from self-isolation.
=E2=AE=9A The PCR test-related and possib= le treatment expenses should be covered by the arriving person.

Preventive Action

A requirement for self-isolation is established for persons arriving in the=
Republic of Armenia from foreign countries.
Persons arriving in the Republic of Armen= ia are provided with a 14-day self-isolation notice by the staff of the RA = Health and Labor Inspectorate on duty at the medical-sanitary control check= points. The individuals so notified shall be isolated at the venues indicat= ed by them, which they cannot leave during the whole period of self-isolati= on.
Exceptions to this rule may be applied to= those persons arriving in the territory of the Republic of Armenia who tak= e a polymerase chain reaction test for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) o= n a paid basis during the period of self-isolation and receive a negative a= nswer.
Self-isolated persons shall be immediatel= y relieved from the regime of self-isolation after the negative result of t= he test has been entered into the ARMED system. Prior to entering the negat= ive answer in the ARMED system by the competent laboratory, the person is g= iven a notice of self-isolation.
Sampling for testing of these individuals= can be done exclusively at their place of residence (self-isolation) throu= gh a visit by laboratory staff.
Exceptions to this rule are made for plan=
e crew members arriving in the Republic of Armenia in order to organize pil=
ots=E2=80=99 rest, drivers of interstate freight transport, as well as for =
freight train drivers who are isolated until the next departure. Train driv=
ers and the personnel in attendance are isolated between two consecutive sh=
ifts.

In accordance with the appendix (hereinafter the Appendix) to RA Government=
Decision No. 298-N of March 16, 2020, the entry of foreign citizens is all=
owed through the air border of the Republic of Armenia. The following perso=
ns are allowed to enter through the land border:
- RA citizens and their family members;
- Persons who are not citizens of the Republic of Armenia but have the righ=
t to reside legally in the Republic of Armenia
- Representatives of diplomatic missions, consular establishments, internat=
ional organizations and their family members;
- Other special cases that may be envisaged by the Commandant based on the =
epidemiological situation in a specific country (region).

The = Ministry of Economy reported that Islamic Republic and Iran and Armenia hav= e made some exceptions for the transportation of goods between the two coun= tries that are of =E2=80=9Ceconomic importance.=E2=80=9D The transfer will = take place in the area between the administrative building of the Meghri la= nd border crossing and the bridge, and under the supervision of the State R= evenue Committee, Ministry of Health, and the National Security Service. Ea= rlier, the transfer of some medical supplies was also allowed. According to Decision No.31 of the Commandan= t=E2=80=99s Office of the Republic of Armenia, dated 3 April 2020, the tran= sportation of all types of goods between the Islamic Republic of Iran and t= he Republic of Armenia (export, import, transit) can be carried out at the = Meghri border crossing point.
All goods from the Islamic Republic of Iran = are subject to transhipment, except for those goods which have the written = permission of the State Revenue Committee.
Armenia has no transport restrictions affect= ing any other country.
