2020 Malaysia "Movement Control Order" during COVID-19 pandemic has been imposed from 18/3/20 to 14/4/20 effectively shut down all schools, businesses etc. However, essential services are allowed to operate. As such, domesitic transport and logistics services, including road freight vehicles are operating to distribute essential services, such as food, medications etc. Source:

The Singapore-Malaysia Special Working Committee has agreed that the transport of all types of goods between Malaysia and Singapore will be facilitated during the duration of Malaysia's Movement Control Order. As such, those conveying essential services, or supplies (e.g. lorry drivers, vegetable supply truckers, frozen supply truckers) via land and sea crossings will be exempted from MOM's entry approval and SHN requirements.

Thai passenger trains are no longer allowed to enter Malaysia. However, freight trains between Thailand and Malaysia continue to operate. Source:

All cargo ports in Malaysia continue to operate. Cruise ports are closed as foreign tourists are no longer allowed to enter Malaysia. Source:
