March 29, 2020: The Government of Suriname will institute a nationwide curfew between the hours of 20:00-06:00 as a counter measure to the spread of COVID-19. The curfew will last two weeks and expires on April 12th.


March 27, 2020: The country is currently in lockdown tonight and the airport is closed for travelers. However, the government are also keeping the port open as goods (foodstuff) need to come into the country and a limited number of port staff will be allowed to travel to the port to load/discharge vessels, although vessel time in port may be extended due to limited work force.
