Provisional agenda items:

  1. Opening and introduction by TF Chair.

  1. Adoption of the agenda. Documentation: Working paper ADAS-35-01

  1. Items to be finalized by the 21st GRVA session in January 2025

3.1. Extending clarifications implemented in the 01 series of amendments to the 00 series of amendments. The TF on ADAS leadership had prepared the working document for the 21st GRVA session to meet the deadline for the submission of working documents. The TF on ADAS is invited to review this document and provide their comments, if any. Based on these comments, an informal document amending the mentioned working document would be prepared. Documentation: Working paper ADAS-35-02
3.2. Confirming the dates of the Transitional Provisions for the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 171.GRVA adopted the draft proposal for the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 171 (document GRVA-20-59/Rev.2) with the dates 2026/2028. There was an alternative proposal from the industry with the dates 2028/2030. The industry may wish to provide justification for the proposed dates. GRVA may decide on the modification of the dates in the Transitional Provisions at its 21st session. Documentation: 3.3. Resolving the issue with contradictory paragraphs. In the draft proposal for the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 171 (document GRVA-20-59/Rev.2), para. 5.3.7.2.4.10. restricts performing system-initiated manoeuvres on highways only. The provision of para. 5.3.7.2.4.10. affects the content of para. 5.3.7.2.5.3.2. (conditions for performing system-initiated manoeuvres outside highways), so that the latter is not relevant anymore.
Possible resolutions:(a) leave paragraphs as they are, or(b) delete the content of para. 5.3.7.2.5.3.2. and reserve it as a placeholder.

  1. Items to exchange of views The TF on ADAS is invited to share their views on the development of the following topics and timing for that development. 4.1. How to lift limitations of system-initiated manoeuvres to highways and conditions of not withholding Hands-On Requests (para. 5.3.7.2.4.10. of UN Regulation No. 171). How to resolve this issue? What kind of additional evidence should be provided for lifting the limitations? Documentation: 4.2. How should the driver confirm his/her knowledge about the system operation (para. 5.3.7.2.4.11. of UN Regulation No. 171)? Consider what are the objectives of this paragraph, the alternative ways of reaching such objectives and propose maybe less burdening way of driver's confirmation of his/her knowledge. Documentation: 4.3. How to optimize periodic reporting information (Table 1 of Section 7 of UN Regulation No. 171)?The interested TF on ADAS stakeholders may wish to provide justification whether some items from Table 1 are redundant, or have no added value, or difficult to collect, etc. Documentation:
  2. A routine proposal The TF on ADAS is invited to review a proposal drafted by the Chair to amend Appendix 2 of Annex 3 to UN Regulation No. 171. Documentation: submission by the Chair ADAS-35-03
  3. Information by the Chair about interactions with the IWG on DETA According to para. 7.2.2.2. of UN Regulation No. 171, if remedial action is required regarding the manufacturer's information, the Type Approval Authority shall upload the relevant information to the secure database "DETA". The IWG on DETA was requested to include a new topic for its agenda: "Adaptation of DETA for the implementation of the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 171 on DCAS". It is expected that, under this agenda item, the IWG on DETA would draft and submit to WP.29 short guidelines with regard to the exchange of information on reporting of safety-critical occurrences with DCAS, same as those elaborated in regards to UN Regulation No. 155. The discussion under this agenda item is planned at the next session of the IWG on DETA on 7 November 2024. Documentation:
  4. List of action items & next steps
