  1. Passengers must complete a Port Health Declaration Form at https://www.ghs-hdf.org/before departure.

  2. Passengers entering and transiting through Ghana must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure. Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm (BIBP), Sinovac and Sputnik V.
    - This does not apply to:
    - passengers younger than 10 years;
    - passengers between 10 and 17 years. They can also enter with a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point;
    - nationals and residents of Ghana. They can also enter with a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point.

  3. Nationals and residents of Ghana without a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure with AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm (BIBP), Sinovac or Sputnik V, are subject to a COVID-19 test and vaccination upon arrival.
    - This does not apply to passengers younger than 18 years.

  4. Passengers are subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival.
    - This does not apply to:
    - passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure. Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covishield, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm (BIBP), Sinovac and Sputnik V;

COVID-19 MEASURES 

 

 

1. Measures aiming to Facilitate the Cross-border Movement of Relief and Essential Supplies

 

1.1. Customs is working closely with other government agencies to expedite clearance of personal protective equipment and related relief supplies.

 

2. Measures aiming at Supporting the Economy and Sustaining Supply Chain Continuity

 

2.1.  Although Ghana’s borders remain closed, goods are allowed clearance through the ports and borders without hindrance.

 

2.2.  The existing Administrative Plan for the protection of critical infrastructure in the event of an emergency has been activated. This plan ensures business continuity during unusual times such as during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

3. Measures aiming at Protecting Customs administrations’ Staff

 

3.1.  A shift system has been designed to ensure that the necessary physical distancing protocols are observed during working hours.

 

3.2.  Running water, soap and disposable hand towels have been provided at entrances to all Customs facilities.

 

3.3.  The Customs Laboratory is now producing large quantities of sanitizers for use in all offices in addition to normal work schedule.

 

3.4.  The wearing of face masks is now compulsory at all Customs facilities in Ghana.

 

3.5.  The Customs Laboratory has teamed up with the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research to use two Customs Mobile Laboratories to conduct COVID-19 testing during the period of the outbreak.
