Tunisia will reopen its sea, land and air borders on June 27 under the following conditions:

• The National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases will determine the epidemiological situation of the different countries that ended the period of comprehensive quarantine and announced the opening of its borders. This decision will be based on scientific and epidemiological standards which are internationally approved and published on the official website of the Ministry of Health http://www.santetunisie.rns.tn updates the classification of the epidemiological situation every week and whenever it’s required.
• The country of residence will be approved for the travel procedures.
• Filling the health data before leaving the airport, port or border crossing of the country of residence, and it can be done electronically.

According to the rules mentioned above, the procedures for opening the borders will be adopted starting from 27 June 2020, as follows:

• The first group (green) with a low prevalence of the epidemic: People coming from these countries are not subject to special preventive measures.
• The second group (orange color), with a medium epidemic:

The concerned are required to submit their negative result from the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) diagnostic test for COVID-19. These tests will be taken into account if they were conducted no more than three days (72 hours) before travelling and 120 hours after arriving in the Tunisian borders.

For Tunisians wishing to stay in hostels and tourists:

• The necessity of switching to hotels on board tourist buses that adhere to the rules of the health protocol for Tunisian tourism, in framed groups.
• Framed accommodation in the hotel, while adhering to the healthy protocol for Tunisian tourism.
• Framed groups of tourists and residents of the hotel are allowed to visit museums, monuments and tourist archaeological sites while respecting the health protocol in each destination.
• The RT-PCR analysis is carried out at the request of the concerned person if he wishes to leave the framed residence or at the request of the country of his residence at his expense starting from the sixth day of his entry into Tunisia.

For Tunisians abroad or foreigners who have residence in Tunisia:

• The need to a written commitment for the 14-day self-quarantine and resort to another laboratory analysis in case of the appearance of symptoms of the disease.
• RT-PCR analysis is carried out at the request of the concerned person in the case of his desire to exit self-quarantine at his expense from the sixth day of his entry into Tunisia.

As for the rest of the countries, the opening of the borders is currently limited to Tunisian expatriates residing in these countries, provided that a laboratory analysis (RT PCR) is shown 72 hours before traveling to Tunisia, provided that the date of conducting the analysis does not exceed 120 hours upon arrival, with the obligation to adhere to the compulsory quarantine for a period of 7 days on its expense and further laboratory analysis at the expense of the state while adhering to a self-quarantine period of another 7 days.
