With respect to Article 6.08, the competent authorities may prescribe that, if the signs referred to in paragraph 2 above cannot be displayed, vessels shall stop and wait until authorization to proceed is given by representatives of the competent authorities.

In accordance with article 9.07, paragraph 4, the following administrations prescribe that if the signs referred to in paragraph 2 of article 6.08 cannot be displayed, vessels shall stop and wait until authorization to proceed is given by representatives of the competent authorities:
1. Austria: in accordance with DFND;
2. Belarus;
3. Czech Republic;
4. Hungary;
5. Romania: article 6.08, paragraph 3 of the “Rules of Navigation on the Danube in the Romanian sector”
6. Russian Federation: relevant indications may be found in special rules of navigation in particular river basins;
7. Slovakia;
8. Turkey.
